Ignore me.
Just typing. Bored out of my mind. Too much thinking & not enough sleep.
If you are sleeping right now... just know I'd like to put shaving cream in your hand right now & run a feather across your face.
Paint your toenails various colors of the rainbow.
Streak your hair.
Shave off one of your eyebrows......

I've wanted to go to sleep for, oh, about 14 hours now, too. :(
I hope you're resting.

I haven't slept well for about two weeks due to job-offer stress. I've mostly been sleeping 2-4 hours at a time, only when I'm absolutely devastated by exhaustion.

I hate insomnia. I remember when I was having job stress. I couldn't sleep, heart tached away at about 120, couldn't eat, got chest pain occasionally. It was hell.
I hope you feel better. Have you ever tried running or intense exercise? Exhaustion helps me to sleep better.

I know exactly what you mean- tried loads of different remedies, to no avail :(

I must be one of those people blessed with sleep. I go to bed and sleep until the alarm goes off. I only wake up if I hear something wrong with the baby on the monitor or the phone. I rarely remember dreams even.

Yep.
I tend to get exhausted to the point of being overwound. It's my mind. I just keep thinking.

Melatonin helps occasionally but I still toss.
I hate sleep meds. Total hangover.
Really no point if your hungover. You can do that without sleep.

When I can't sleep I lie down and begin building a surreal tree house in my imagination. I start with an enormous mossy tree surrounded by overgrown grass and tangled flower beds, and encircle it with a spiral staircase. Then I add landings, each with an eccentric room. I imagine every detail of every item--books on the shelves, food on the plates, stray vines curling amongst knick-knacks and collectibles of all sorts. The spiral goes higher and higher. If I get to the very top I find a big cradle bed swaying in the breeze. The rigging groans. The leaves rustle. I lie down and begin building a surreal tree house in my imagination...

It's morning here, and after a foul day of storms, today the sun is shining. Everything seems fresh for the jolly good cleaning it had yesterday. I do pray you will get some refreshment soon.

Thank you. It's almost 3am here but I'm getting ready to read a book. One thing about insomnia, I can knock the books out like dominoes.

That's wonderful!

Have you written them down?

Not those ones no- because they were all about the kids club we are setting up in September and all the things which could/would/did go wrong. And I am trying not to think about that too much! I have had some worth writing down over the years.
