I followed a link from IIDB to CF just now, and got to reading some threads in Discuss Rules, and hooboy I had forgotten how messed up that stuff is. Everyone is so careful, there's so much defensive language and doublespeak, and it seems whenever anyone gets close to resolving anything, the thread's closed.
After spending most of my forum time here and the rest in ~E~ for the past few days, the contrast is intense. So I just wanted to say: this place rocks.
We've had a lot of disagreement and some outright squabbling here recently, which has been getting me down. But I think it's awfully cool that we can talk things all the way through. And it's looking to me like if we talk about something long enough, no matter how torqued off we were at first, we eventually wear the anger out of it and come back to civil conversation. I just think that's neat.
