I'm not sure how this is going to come out - it's something I've thought about, and don't really know the answer. My thought is this: if you don't consent to sex, and then you realise it's going to happen anyway, it'd be better for you if you could change your mind. I don't actually think you can change your mind - at least, I never have, and it doesn't seem as though I could. I mean, if you don't want to, then you don't want to. Anyway, you feel bad because you didn't want to and it happened. So, maybe if you could change that you wouldn't feel so bad. That's my thought.

Consent is relative.

Do you mean like with a rape or more of a I really didn't want to but did to make my significant other happy? Because I am not sure that technique is gonna work with rape.

On the other hand, you might still end up feeling bad because on one level, you've convinced yourself that you consented to something you really didn't want, and that you therefore have no right to be upset over what happened.

I was thinking of rape. I'm not sure if it would work - I don't know if it's possible. But if it could work, it might help.

I guess. But I was more thinking about inside your head. You wouldn't actually consent. You'd kind of trick yourself so you wouldn't feel so bad afterwards.

What do you mean?
It means I want to rape my relatives. Do I have to spell everything out for you? :-|

The self is a layered phenomenon. The badness is still going to get expressed somehow, but quite possibly in distorted, inapprpriate ways that have gotten disconnected from the event itself.

I guess I don't know what an appropriate way would be.

Only the pretty ones, though, I bet.
