Since post reporting appears to be a feature we cannot easily turn off I have added a child forum to this forum so that all reported posts show up there. In the interest of openness this forum is an open forum. This means if you report someone they will know you reported them and be able to respond to your report and participate in the discussion along with the rest of the community.
As this is an experiment I am not sure that this will remain a forum open for posting or that we will keep the usernames of reporters displayed. We can have all reports come from a bogus member to allow the reporter to remain anonymous but that seems to go against what I, and I think seebs, sees as the one of the key points we had in mind when talking about this joint. If the forum becomes a flame fest we may reconsider the setup of reporting. I never want to make it private but I think that anonymous may be necessary in the future but I want to be as open as possible to start. We may have to change things as time goes on but the default setting should always be completely open and only change as much as is necessary to keep the community to a modicum of peace. I know that communities will not always be peaceful but if that is our default setting then we can weather the other stuff without many problems.
