I propose that we allow the mods to do their jobs without having to clear every decision though endless discussion but do so under some guidelines. One guideline has been proposed re: flaming and we should discuss others. I lieu of a huge number of threads on each topic I will throw out some suggested guidelines here.
1. Flames moved from friendly chatter to YIWT. Flames in Star Chamber dealt with on case by case basis. Flames allowed in Discussion.
2. All actions recored using the report feature to start a thread prior to action being taken.
3. Posts are never deleted only moved except in the case of the fifth and sixth points.
4. Off topic posts are dealt with on a case by case basis. If they didn't actually derail the thread then there is no reason for the mods to move them. If requested they can move them to create further discussion. This is up to the mods' discretion and should be dealt with on a case by case basis. Friendly Chatter should have more freedom for off topic posts as it is just chatter.
5. Spam removed immediately. Soft delete only.
6. Promotion of illegal activities should be soft deleted and brought to the attention of flesh99. He will make the final decision on whether it remains out of sight. (This is because flesh99 has years of experience in dealing with webhosting and actually knows what can be allowed without fear of legal recourse.)
I think this about covers everything I had on my mind and still preserves and promotes the freedoms which we seek to allow as well as the protection we have sought to provide.
