I got introduced to Boulevard of Broken Dreams by hearing the Gregorian version (yes, it's a Gregorian chant style version). It is awesome.

I also really enjoy the Johnny Cash cover of Hurt, Richard Cheese's Down With the Sickness, The University of Illnois Other Guys' Basket Case (a capella), Paul Anka's Black Hole Sun, and the Lager Rhythms' Brick.

Yours?

Jeff Buckley's version of 'Hallelujah', the Zappa brothers' 'Hit Me Baby One More Time', and Snake River Conspiracy's 'How Soon Is Now'.

Who did 'Rusty Cage' first? Johnny Cash or Soundgarden? I love both versions, but they're so very different!

I really like Metallica's version of Whiskey in the Jar and Turn the Page.

Soundgarden did it first.

Which Turn the Page did Metallica cover? The only one I know is Rush, off Hold Your Fire. And this sure doesn't sound like that.

Back in 2002, first person at CF to say I wasn't a real Christian got to it in the course of a thread in which I asserted that perhaps some Metallica could be listened to by Christians without immediately invoking God's wrath.

I think it was Quaffer, oddly enough, and she seems much cooler than that now.

... You know, I have no idea how long I've known you ksen, but this is the first time I've seen any indication that you were into, among other things, anime, gaming, or decent music. :)

They redid Bob Seger's version on their Garage, Inc CD.

Yeah, quite a few of us go through phases.

Yep, Calvinism is just an aspect of who I am, not the totality.

However, I try to let my faith infect everything about my life so there are some things in those areas I avoid. I'm not always successful, but I try.

A lot of people assume that, since I play violent games, and games with magic in them, and don't avoid cussing, I have no scruples at all. In fact, I don't like playing games built around materialism. Animal Crossing bugs me a lot.
